Much of my work eventually takes the form of books, where the serial nature of experience, repetition, and variation can be expressed most fully. Through this form I channel ideas in semi-abstract, lyrical ways, always circling themes of the universal everyday. The books themselves are conceived and produced quickly and modestly. Rather than focus on the book as the endpoint of an extended project, they are fleeting reflections, akin to a sketch, incorporating handmade elements and often brief in length and produced in short runs. I utilize my affinity for drawing in this approach, elevating the idea of imperfect, spontaneous, diaristic modes of expression through photography. I often emphasize a material aspect to my books through visible imperfection and mark-making.
